Frequently Asked Questions
What is PeekThru? 📡
PeekThru helps people see what places are really like today — not yesterday’s opinions.
PeekThru Pulse is the first layer: businesses can post quick, same-day updates by text (like wait times, sold-out items, walk-ins paused, or fresh batch moments). Customers check the Pulse page before they go.
How does it work for businesses? 🏪
It’s intentionally simple:
1️⃣ We create a unique PeekThru Pulse page for your business.
2️⃣ You send a quick SMS like “Quiet now, 10 min wait” or “Fresh batch just ready”.
3️⃣ Your Pulse page updates immediately with your latest message.
4️⃣ You share that link on Google, Instagram, your website, or via QR at your door.
No app. No dashboard. If your staff can send a text, they can use PeekThru.
Can I embed my Pulse page on my website? 🧩
Yes. Your Pulse page can be embedded as an iframe so customers can see today’s updates directly on your site. We can also provide an embed view that hides everything except the updates (for clean widgets).
How does it work for customers? 👀
Customers simply open your PeekThru status page before they leave home.
They can see:
• Today’s wait times and crowd levels
• Whether you’re quiet, steady, or very busy
• Fresh batch / “just baked” updates
• Any same-day updates you’ve shared (like fresh batches or walk-in availability)
They can also subscribe for SMS alerts so they’re notified when you post a new update.
Who is PeekThru for? 🎯
PeekThru is built for local, time-sensitive businesses and the customers who rely on them:
🏪 Businesses: cafés, bakeries, food trucks, barbers & salons, walk-in clinics, markets, gyms, studios and more.
👥 Customers: anyone who wants to avoid long waits, wasted trips, and “sold out” surprises.
Is PeekThru just SMS updates, or more than that? 🧩
PeekThru starts with Pulse — same-day updates posted by businesses so customers know what’s happening today.
Over time, PeekThru also includes:
• Social peeks — quick, in-the-moment views from visitors
• Play — short, place-based games that only exist today
• Rolling reviews — feedback that reflects recent reality, not the distant past
All of it exists for one reason: to help people decide today, not later.
Do I need an app or dashboard to use it? 📲
No.
For businesses, PeekThru is fully SMS-based. You don’t need to log into a dashboard or install a new app for staff.
Just save the PeekThru number as a contact and send updates like a normal text.
Customers don’t need an app either — they can view your live status page in any browser.
What kind of updates can businesses post? ✍️
Anything that helps customers decide when or whether to come, such as:
• “Quiet now, no wait for walk-ins”
• “Approx. 30 min wait for tables”
• “Fresh pastries just out of the oven”
• “Last few slots left for today”
• “Closed early today due to weather”
Short, clear, today-only signals are best.
Are PeekThru updates always current? 🕒
PeekThru updates are designed to reflect what’s happening today.
Each update clearly shows when it was posted, and yesterday’s updates don’t carry over — so customers always know they’re seeing fresh, same-day information.
Where is PeekThru available? 📍
We’re starting in Brisbane with early pilots across cafés, markets, and local businesses, and expanding city by city.
If you’d like to be part of the early rollout in your area, reach out — we’re actively onboarding founding businesses.
What does it cost? 💸
We’re currently in pilot with a small group of local businesses, so early partners are onboarded on a
founding plan while we learn and refine the product.
If you’re interested in joining the pilot as a founding venue, get in touch and we’ll share the latest details.
Why not just use Instagram or Google? 🤔
Instagram, TikTok and Google are great — but they’re not built for today’s expectation setting.
• Posts and stories get buried by algorithms.
• Reviews and photos describe the past, not what’s happening right now.
• None of them are designed for fast, operational updates like “short wait now” or “sold out today”.
PeekThru is built specifically for same-day status updates —
so customers know what to expect before they arrive, and businesses avoid bad visits.
Do businesses need to post all the time?
No. PeekThru is designed to work even with occasional updates.
Many businesses only post when something changes — like a long wait, walk-ins paused, or a fresh batch ready. Even a single update during a busy period can prevent multiple frustrated visits.
